Can I Merge Patient Accounts?
Within Unified Practice, Patient Files cannot be merged or combined into one. This article will show you how to take the duplicate file off your radar!
Files cannot be merged or combined into one. This is a matter of HIPAA compliance by way of chart maintenance and preservation.
What you can do instead, is decide which files you do not want to continue using and Archive them. This will take them off your radar but not completely erase them, effectively eliminating the duplicate files.
Archived patients can still be searched and accessed from the Patient List by selecting All Patients and Include Archived Patients. You may also unarchive a patient file at any time.
There is an article here with more information on how to archive a patient and export SOAP notes for the file you want to archive, then transfer them to the Patient File you want to keep.
