UnifiedPay Terminal Options

Learn about UnifiedPay payment terminal options, including available devices, compatibility, and ordering information.

UnifiedPay offers several integrated terminal options for accepting in-person card payments directly within Unified Practice.

When you're ready to collect a payment, send the transaction from Unified Practice to the terminal. The patient can then tap, insert, or swipe their card to complete the payment.

A payment terminal isn't required to use UnifiedPay. You can also collect payments by manually entering a patient's card information in Unified Practice or by sending a secure payment link.

For instructions on accepting payments using a UnifiedPay terminal, see Receiving Payment Through a UnifiedPay Terminal Device.

Note: To use a payment terminal with Unified Practice, you'll first need to enroll in UnifiedPay. If you haven't enrolled yet, see How to Apply for UnifiedPay.

SREDKey2 Card Reader

The SREDKey2 is a USB magnetic stripe card reader that connects directly to your computer using a USB cable. It can also be used with supported iPads when using the appropriate USB adapter.

Unlike the wireless terminals listed above, the SREDKey2 only supports magnetic stripe (swipe) transactions. It does not support chip, tap, Apple Pay, or Google Pay payments.

It's a simple option for practices that only need swipe functionality.

Can I use a terminal from another payment processor or vendor?

No. Payment terminals purchased through another payment processor or vendor can't be used with UnifiedPay. To accept payments through Unified Practice using UnifiedPay, your terminal must be purchased or leased through UnifiedPay so it can be configured for your account.
