An Overview on each platform
- Both the iPad EHR for TCM App used for charting and the Web Platform have a section available to use for charting the patient's vital signs.
The web platform looks like this:
The iPad charting looks like this:
Heart Rate & Blood Pressure
- The heart rate is measured and recorded in beats per minute. You can use
the Pulse > Biomed Pulse section of the charting app to record the heart rate by tapping on the screen in time to the patient's pulse, or you may enter it manually in the Vital Signs section. - The Blood Pressure or Heart Rate saved in the Pulse section of the app will also be saved in the Vital Signs section of the app.
Respiratory Rate
- Respirations are recorded as respirations per minute and can only be entered manually in the Vital Signs section.
Sp02
- You are able to enter the Sp02 field by clicking into the Vital Signs section of the SOAP note. Then, enter the Sp02 level. This is measurable by a pulse oximeter. It can only be entered manually in the Vital Signs section.
Body Weight, Height and BMI
- The Body Mass Index (BMI) field will automatically populate after you enter the patient's weight and height, using the formula weight(lbs)/square height (inches). Both the height and weight fields for the patient must be entered in order for the BMI field to populate. If either field is missing the BMI field will be left blank.
- It can only be entered manually in the Vital Signs section.
